Gender Inequality, infrastructure, Climate Change Reflection

After six days of presentations, I feel like the second round of presentations have improved from the last ones. The groups were more organized and the information that was presented was without a doubt more in-depth. Almost all the groups had more than 20 slides with their own story and explanation behind it. Information and facts that most of us didn’t know were explain flawlessly. As we all presented our own topics everyone did an amazing job even though we weren’t giving a lot of time we all came together and did an amazing job once again.

The three topics that were discussed were: Gender Inequality, Climate Change, and Infrastructure. Topics such as these can normally have a ton of information and tons of research behind them. What I personally was worried about was the interviews. It’s not easy getting someone that is knowledgeable and has the time to give out of their day for a school presentation. To my surprise all three groups had multiple interviews that were very informative about the topics that the groups had.The first group to present this time around was mine. Last time we presented we went last since we were group three. This time around we were better organized and prepared for this long two class presentation. Our topic was gender inequality. This topic had a lot of research material that my group had to go through. We split the sessions within ourselves to make the workload easier and more organized. After two classes, many slides, and two interviews, our presentation was done.

The next presentation that came in was climate change. I feel like this topic is super serious in today’s world. Many changes are happening all around the world, one of them being climate change. Climate change has been affecting our world and ecosystems for years now. I thought I knew a lot about climate change since it’s a topic I am genuinely interested in, but this group really had a lot of information that I wasn’t aware of. They gave us a lot of relevant and informative information about this topic. They went into details about pollution and the many ways pollution affects the environment and the living beings within them (animals, plant life, and people). They informed us about air pollution, water pollution and land pollution. They also talked about how these different kinds of pollutions can affect our health in the long term. Pollution can lead to cancer that can eventually lead to death. Another important piece of information this group discussed was global warming. Global warming is something that we didn’t pay attention to till more recent years. They gave us very detailed information with Ted Talks they put in and, they had a good interview that gave us a different perspective. After listening to this group’s presentation, I feel like I know way more about climate change and how it is affecting us currently.

The next group that presented talked about infrastructure. A topic that I felt like it wasn’t going to be interesting. Little did I know how important infrastructure is to the United States and to the world. They talked about many different kinds in infrastructure and their role in the world. They talked about railroad infrastructure, water infrastructure, aviation infrastructure, and road infrastructure. This group gave us background information on the types of infrastructure and how they have evolved throughout the years. They also had a lot of Ted Talks that gave everyone even more vital information about this topic. All in all, I feel like this group’s presentation was my favorite. They had a lot of information and made me realize how important this topic really is to the world we live in. I strongly feel like everyone did an amazing job. This time around the topics were extremely interesting. Even the one that I thought was an irrelevant topic ended up becoming one of the most interesting. I can’t wait to see what’s next for our class!
